Veterans get new wheels free of charge

Free winter tires were given to Veterans in Barre Sunday Morning.

The charity 'Tires for Troops' gave and installed tires to Veterans who signed up for the service, at Bigras Auto and tire.

In its second year of running, the event held is completely run by volunteers, including vets who took the time to help out and install tires. Participants in the program were grateful for the generous support.

“I appreciate the fact that they're thankful for me and serving the military but I am the one the same thankful for the gift,” said Matt Harris an Air Force Veteran.

Tylor Bigras of Bigras Auto in Barre... is thankful for the service of our Military.

"Those are the people I want to help you know help the guys who keep our country free and give back to them."

Bigras auto also gave free inspections and oil changes to the service men and woman who signed up for tires.

Governor Phil Scott stopped by this afternoon to show his support.
