New digs for UVM Rescue

UVM Rescue has opened a new building.

The student-run organization now has a larger space to work out of on campus. The 1.4 million dollar project is next to the university's police station. The group says it answers about 1,700 calls a year, and provides advanced life support ambulance services. The new building can hold two ambulances. It has a training room and enough space to house two full crews with eight beds.

"We are super excited to move into a much larger space. It's at least triple the size, if not more. It's just going to help us grow. Having more people here, more people to potentially put another truck in service and take another call is huge for us," said UVM Rescue's Kiley Bailargeon.

UVM Rescue also responds to neighborhoods off campus and to homes in South Burlington, Shelburne, and Winooski.
