LITTLETON, N.H. (WCAX) - Two young girls from Milton, Vermont, died in a crash in New Hampshire.

It happened on Interstate 93 just south of Exit 44 in Littleton at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday.

Police say Jordan Couture, 36, of Milton, Vermont, was headed north in a pickup truck when he lost control and drove into the median.

The vehicle rolled, ejecting the girls. They died at the scene; Couture was taken to the hospital.

Milton School Superintendent Amy Rex says the young girls were students in the district.

In a statement, Rex said, “Our school crisis team, including school counselors, social workers and clinicians are available to all members of our community. Targeted support will be provided to the affected classrooms to assist the teachers and students.”

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
