More people falling prey to QR code scams

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - The Better Business Bureau is warning about a growing number of scams involving fake QR codes.

The black-and-white squares called QR codes have become ubiquitous in recent years and can be used on everything from restaurant menus to board a plane. But a growing number of scams involving the quick response codes can take shoppers to fraudulent websites.

Cat Viglienzoni spoke with the BBB’s Melanie McGovern about the scams and what to look out for.
