3 injured when SUV strikes 2 Amish buggies in New York

HAMPTON, N.Y. (WCAX) - Three people were injured when an SUV hit two Amish buggies Tuesday in Hampton, New York.

New York State Police say Thomas Morcombe, 31, of Whitehall, New York, was driving his SUV southwest on Route 4 at about 6 p.m. when he hit the two buggies from behind.

Three people in one of the buggies were taken to the hospital in Glens Falls to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The buggies were driven by John Raber, 56, and Danny Byler, 40, both of Whitehall.

Police say the crash is still under investigation.
