Vt. man faces charges following fatal July crash

PROCTOR, Vt. (WCAX) - A Proctor man faces charges connected to a fatal crash over the summer.

Vermont State Police have charged Gage Capen, 21, with three counts of grossly negligent operation for the crash on July 9. They say Capen was driving south on West Street in Proctor when he swerved and lost control, hitting an embankment and rolling the car.

Police say Kianna Peters, 18, was one of three passengers in the car. The Pownal teen died at the scene.

Capen is due in Rutland County Court next month.
